Susannah Heschel, Ph.D., is the Chair of the Jewish Studies Program at Dartmouth College. She teaches alongside Tarek El-Ariss, Ph.D., the Chair of the Middle Eastern Studies Program. The two of them are working together to educate students about the long-standing history of Israel and Gaza. Righting Wrong Results

More than 14,000 Black kidney transplant candidates have been moved up the priority list for their transplant. Why? Many should have been put on the list earlier and a racially-biased organ test is to blame. Some lab reports overestimate kidney function in Black patients by as much as 16%. Preventing Plastic Pollution

Today, the United Nations Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee For Plastics wraps up their fourth meeting with thousands of delegates from 175 countries. The goal is to finalize a treaty that will curb plastic pollution. However, the group has been running into some roadblocks. We’ll explain.

Nancy McKee, the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce for Phillips County in Arkansas, is talking about the reaction she gets from businesses as she tries to encourage them to move to the area. She says lack of broadband access in the rural area is a deterrent. And for families living there, it leaves them isolated, struggling to catch up to a very connected world.
